****Guess what?! Letter of the Week lesson plans are getting an overhaul! I’m going through and updating all plans, adding new free worksheets and making sure all links are up to date! I’ve created a bunch of templates too for some of the crafts that’ll make your life a lot easier! Hang tight! It may take some time to get through all the letters, but it’s coming soon!! If you’re seeing this message, this post has already been updated!***
I’ve always hated silent letters.
I mean try explaining to a 5-year-old why some letters are silent and some aren’t. The English language has so many caveats and complexity and it can be difficult for children to understand.
So this week’s letter is not one of my favorite letters. That sneaky silent K is one of the hardest to explain. I mean at least E can be a superhero and leap over other letters, or even buddy up with a sidekick and make a letter say it’s name. Like a BOSS!
K though… K is pretty boring. Sometimes it doesn’t talk, other times it mimics that sound of another letter. Pretty lame, right?
But enough with the K bashing. For all it’s faults, it does make some pretty cute crafts! Check them out below.

The K is for King craft was a bit of quirky fun. We used some leftover jewels from the J is for jewels craft and some glitter glue to draw on features. This King looks like he’d rule a pretty fun kingdom!

There are lots of fun activities this week. My kids loved the shaving cream activity most of all.

Do you have all of the weekly letters? I couldn’t find them
Hi Faith! I am still creating them. I am working on N now and will publish it in the next day or so.
Thank you so much I love these they are a big help and your weekly theme lessons. I couldn’t find them all, is there a certain place to look or could you email me them? Thank you
Hi! I don’t currently have them all listed but will be posting a round up post soon. I was waiting until the series was complete but am glad there is a need for them sooner! 🙂 I’m trying to finish up N now. Hoping to get more done next week while oldest goes to camp! 🙂
Thank you, and I was wondering about the theme lesson ones. I would love to have all of them but can’t find them all. Is there a certain place you keep them?
