Llama, Llama, Red Pajama. Reads a story with Who?  With his Mama.

Seriously y’all.  Did you see that video of Ludacris rapping Llama, Llama, Red Pajama?  It is so stinking catchy!  A year later and it’s still stuck in my head!

And it’s literally the first thing I think of when I think of the letter L.  That song and llamas.

Free Ocean Animals Preschool Unit –

One of the first things that comes to my mind when I think of summer is the ocean.

We try to go at least once a year.  Personally, I’m more of a mountains girl, but there’s something to be said about sitting on the beach in the hot sun, listening to the waves crash on the shore.

But then there’s having to clean sand out of every crevice of your body too, so…

We always make a trip to the aquarium also.  I’ve always found sea life so fascinating.  It’s like this entire different world exists below the water.  So needless to say, I had a lot of fun planning this week’s lessons all centering around ocean animals!

I’ve always hated silent letters.

I mean try explaining to a 5-year-old why some letters are silent and some aren’t.  The English language has so many caveats and complexity and it can be difficult for children to understand.

So this week’s letter is not one of my favorite letters.  That sneaky silent K is one of the hardest to explain. I mean at least E can be a superhero and leap over other letters, or even  buddy up with a sidekick and make a letter say it’s name.  Like a BOSS!

Summer’s not even officially started and it’s hot here!  My summer plan to survive the heat is to spend our summers around a sprinkler or in the pool.

Or we could just revisit this week’s lesson over and over.  There are lots of icy, fun activities this week. Perfect for a summer day!

15 Free & Fun Fourth of July Cut Files (SVGS)

The Fourth of July is right around the corner!  This is one of my favorite holidays for many reasons.  Mostly because  it’s my grandpa’s birthday.  I have lots of great memories of family fun when he was alive.

Now I love the new traditions we’ve built with my little family.  Cookouts, campfires, fireworks and fun in the sun.  The fourth embodies everything that is summer to me.  And of course there’s the biggest meaning of all – the independence of our country.

So I’ve started working on my Fourth of July projects already and have scoured the interwebs looking for the cutest FREE SVG files I could find!
