Since I just shared my Dr. Suess baby shower post, I felt it appropriate to follow up with a baby shower gift ideas post.

These aren’t just any  baby shower ideas – these are the BEST baby shower ideas.  Being a mom of two and having tons of friends with babies – I’ve had my time to do my research.  These products are all products that absolutely made my life easier as a Mom.

And ultimately that’s what we want to provide in a baby shower gift, right?

Well that and maybe something super cute.  So you do cute, and I’ll give you practical!  The ultimate gift combination!

1. Sleepers with zippers

So maybe we can satisfy your impulse to buy cute by also encouraging something practical here.  Sleepers with zippers are the ultimate luxury for Mom’s to be,  Forget those sleepers with buttons.  Literally forget them – they are a pain!  Zippers are where its at!  They are so very convenient when a blow out strikes at 4 in the morning!

2. Sock ons

Y’all…baby socks and shoes are literally one of the most annoying things in the world.  Insanely, adorable, yet also annoying.  Squrimy baby feet just weren’t designed to keep socks and shoes on.  But cold baby feet is also a big no, so this product provides the ultimate compromise.  These nifty creations actually hold baby socks in place!  Mom’s gonna love you for this one!

3.  Snot Sucker

This is perhaps the grossest thing you never knew you needed.  This incredible contraption lets you literally suck the snot out of your child’s nose.  Forget those little aspirators.  They are complete junk.  This is how you provide comfort when your child is miserably congested.  Yes in theory it seems disgusting, but it is perfectly sanitary and is just one more thing on the list of things you never thought you’d do before you became a mom!

4.  Boppy Nursing Pillow

This useful gift has tons of purposes! The obvious one is for use as a breastfeeding pillow.  However, it can also be something comfortable for Mom to sit on after birth.  It also doubles as a prop for babe to use to sit up with with they are beginning to attempt sitting up on their own.  You can buy cute covers for it too to match practically any decor!

5. Wubbanub

If a kid is going to take a paci, this is the one you want them to take.  Not only is this the paci brand distributed in hospitals (without the cute stuffie of course) but this thing is really practical.  It will easily become one of the first things baby grasps and it’s a lot easier to find than a regular paci when baby pitches it across the floor.  Plus it comes in soooo many adorable varieties!

6. Halo Sleepsacks

So babies aren’t supposed to have blankets for safety reasons.  You can swaddle them until they start to roll over, but then what?  Then…Halo Sleepsacks!  These things are awesome.  They provide the perfect transition out of the swaddle, and keep baby warm at night.  There are several different ways to use this and different stages of the Sleepsack for older babies.  This gift is a must have!

7.  Wedela Diaper Creme

I don’t know what it is about this stuff, but it’s like the magic potion of diaper cremes.  I know so many Moms who swear by it.  We actually have it on Subscribe and Save we love it so much!  They also make an awesome baby gift set that is a great gift for Mom too!

8.  Easy to Clean Bottle Rack

We’ve had a bunch of bottle racks and this one is by far the best.  The little grass things hold tiny pieces in place and support bottles without collapsing.  It is so easy to clean too.

9.  Freemies

I literally cannot say enough good things about these.  They are AMAZING!  They probably deserve their own post.  Any breastfeeding Mama knows that pumping is like the bain of their existence.  You’re strapped to a machine with something tugging and squeezing your nipples to produce milk.  It’s not the epidemy of comfort and you are so limited in what you can do.  These pump attachments provide the ultimate in convenience.  They fit discretely under your shirt  and you don’t have to worry about knocking them off because they are firmly secured in your bra.  You can hold a child, drive a car, work at a computer.  You can literally pump anywhere!  And I swear I always got more milk using these to pump!

10. Portable Play yard

This gift is one for when baby gets a little bigger, but it is one that will get so much use!  This play yard is so easy to transport and makes life with a crawling baby so much easier!  We’ve used our at the beach, in the mountains, and in every single room in our house!  It is compact and easy for travel and keeps baby safely contained when needed!  This is one of my favorite baby gear purchases of all time!

So I’ll be the first to admit, a few of these gifts are a little on the pricey side but consider going in with a friend or family member on them!  They are sure to make Mom’s life easier and that’s a crucial in surviving the first year with a baby!
